Registering Repertoire
Before you start to Register Repertoire via myRecordedMusic please note it is not optimised for mobile use (including tablets and phones). We recommend that you access it via a web browser on a laptop or a computer.
Click on the written guides below to learn how to navigate the myRecordedMusic Portal and update your details.
- Minimum Data Requirements - Before you get started, to register a recording with us you will always need this information
- Register Repertoire User Guide - How to register and manage your recordings and releases. Once registered, your releases and recordings will be included in the global repertoire database.
- Bulk Repertoire Import Guide - A step by step guide on how to upload your repertoire in bulk to the Register Repertoire system.
- Repertoire Data Glossary and Style Guide - This guide will help you understand the technical terms and information required for the portal.
- How to register a recording – video guide - This will be beneficial if you are seeking to register one recording at a time. The process applies to the registration of both a sound and a video recording (you will be able to select this type within the recording journey).
- How to bulk upload your recordings – video guide - A guide to uploading your repertoire in bulk to the Register Repertoire system. This is the quickest way for you to submit multiple recordings to Register Repertoire.
Please note that as the myRecordedMusic portal has been set up to access the PPL repertoire database:
- The video guides above have been made by our UK equivalent PPL
- The written guides provide guidance around how to submit a range of information that Recorded Music NZ does not require due to differences in the law and operation of music rights between NZ and the UK (for example in relation to performer line-ups and MCPS). These sections are identified as Not Mandatory or N/A in the guides but you are of course free to provide this information if you wish and it may be useful in relation to international royalty collection
The key information required to complete repertoire registration is listed under Minimum Data Requirements above.
