Important Reminders & Updates
Ngā Whakamaharatanga me ngā Karere Hirahira
29 January 2026
As previously announced, to ensure the inclusion of your 2025 recordings in our 2026 distribution they must be registered in our new rights holder portal myRecordedMusic.
Thank you to those that have already logged in to register their repertoire. While we know many of you have successfully registered your recordings, we know that others have experienced technical issues, particularly with the bulk upload function.
We apologise for these issues and appreciate your patience as we work through them with our tech partner PPL. To give everyone more time we have been able to extend this year's deadline for registration to 27 February.
Please note that if you need to do a bulk upload, you will need to contact memberportal@recordedmusic.co.nz to request a Register Repertoire – Rightsholder ID.
Thank you to those who attended our in-person and online workshops on how to register repertoire. For general support, you can now:

You can also find user guides and information here
If you are a registered rights holder you should have received an email with personalised login details that will enable you to log into the portal. If you have not received this email, or are experiencing other issues, please contact memberportal@recordedmusic.co.nz
This is the first release of myRecordedMusic and some features are still under development, including artist-only accounts – which are due to launch in early-2026.

Repertoire Conflicts Policy
As part of our upgrade to our new data and distribution system, which includes connecting to PPL’s global repertoire database, Recorded Music NZ has published a new Repertoire Conflicts Policy
The policy applies in situations where we have received conflicting information about who owns or controls a sound recording, and/or who is entitled to be paid in respect of a sound recording.
Rights Holders will be advised ahead of distribution if we become aware of conflicts impacting their repertoire and the policy sets out the process for resolving these conflicts. The process is designed to encourage the parties involved to engage constructively to resolve conflicts fairly and efficiently, and where possible, is closely aligned with PPL’s processes to ensure consistency and good practice.
Reminder to Register Your Repertoire by 30 January

You will see that your existing data has already been migrated into the portal. Please log in as soon as you receive your details and register any new recordings released in 2025. You can do this via the Register Repertoire function.

PORTAL USER TIPS
- The portal is currently only available for rights holders (which includes self-releasing artists), while the artist portal remains under development. Watch this space in early 2026 for the rollout of the portal for Aotearoa Registered Artists
- To register repertoire you will need to provide a specific set of information which can be viewed here
- Some account information can be updated directly in My Account, however requests to change company and financial details will need to be reviewed by our team before they are actioned
- You may see in the portal that we are offering the option to provide your gender and ethnicity information. This is to help us better understand and tailor our services to our membership. Providing this data is optional and you may select “prefer not to say”. If you do wish to provide this information you can do so here
- Keep in mind that updates made in the portal may take up to a week to pass through the system review process
