Direct Licensing
Direct Licensing
Recorded Music’s catalogue of sound recordings is licensed to us by Registered Rights Holders on a non-exclusive basis for inclusion in our blanket licences in the field of broadcast, public performance and certain online uses. Our blanket licence is not the only way music users can obtain permission to use sound recordings. You are free at any time to deal, engage and arrange a licence with sound recording rights holders directly (e.g. record labels and artists, including our Registered Rights Holders and Recording Artists) and to negotiate individual licence fees for the repertoire of sound recordings you wish to play.
We represent thousands of rights holders and many millions of recordings. A list of the rights holders we represent is linked below and updated from time to time.

Also note:
Recorded Music only licenses sound recordings on behalf of its registered rights holders and is not involved in licensing the use of sound recordings in any field other than broadcast, public performance and certain online uses. For example, Recorded Music is not involved in, and does not control in any way, the licensing of streaming services such as Spotify, YouTube or Apple Music; licensing recordings for synchronisation into films; or in the physical or digital sale of recordings to consumers. These areas are licensed directly by rights holders in some cases with assistance from other parties such as aggregators.
