Recorded Music NZ is proud to support the annual Going Global Music Summit, hosted by Independent Music NZ in partnership with the New Zealand Music Commission at Q Theatre in Tāmaki Makaurau. Our CEO Jo Oliver will participate in the Aotearoa Market Today session that opens the conference, and we are also hosting a panel featuring members of our Artists Committee, Kaylee Bell and Anthonie Tonnon, alongside Independent Music NZ Chair and artist manager Pippa Ryan-Kidd.

Recorded Music NZ CEO Jo Oliver joins Anthony Healey (APRA AMCOS) and Cath Andersen (NZ Music Commission) in this report on New Zealand music market information from the last year, and to reflect on some of the current trends for music from Aotearoa both at home and abroad.

The panel will be followed by a session with Tom Windish from The Team (US) in conversation with Gemma Gracewood. From a late-90s solo start-up agency in New York to being a mainstay on the Billboard Power 100, Tom has built a career as one of the world's most successful agents, having worked with the likes of Billie Eilish, The xx, Stereolab and our very own Lorde.

This panel explores the practical side of building a sustainable music career: understanding copyright, registrations, royalty collection, neighbouring rights and international collection systems, while also looking at how data – like your Official Aotearoa Music Charts history – can help build visibility and credibility beyond Aotearoa.

Join us to hear from Tūī-winning, chart-topping country star Kaylee Bell, Taite Music Prize recipient and public transport advocate Anthonie Tonnon, and artist manager extraordinaire and IMNZ Chair Pippa Ryan-Kidd. The panel will be facilitated by Recorded Music's Head of Legal & Business Affairs and AMA, Christy Whelan.

Stick around after the lunchbreak to hear more from Kaylee in a one-on-one interview facilitated by Heidi Ettema (Broken PR). The duo will discuss the Waimate-born, Nashville-based country-pop star's journey as an independent artist with international ambitions. She's shared stages with some of country music's biggest names, built a genuinely global fanbase as a self-managed independent artist, and continues to tour extensively across New Zealand, Australia, the US, UK, Europe and beyond.
