Global music industry announces new standard for AI labelling in recordings
Recorded Music NZ is welcoming a new AI labelling framework announced by the global music community.
The voluntary framework is intended to give music fans clearer information about the use of generative AI in sound recordings, distinguishing between “AI generated” and “AI assisted”.
Recorded Music CEO Jo Oliver said:
“Human artistry is at the core of the music industry and New Zealand music fans deserve to know whether and how Gen AI has been used in making recordings. We look forward to supporting the global implementation of the standard.”
