Changes to Recorded Music NZ Distribution Policy & Privacy Policy
Recorded Music NZ has published changes to its Distribution Policy that take effect from 1st May 2025. The changes are reflected in a Transitional Schedule which can be viewed in full here
As previously announced, we are upgrading to a new IT system to process data and distributions. The system has been developed for us by PPL, our equivalent collective management organisation in the UK, and is adapted from their own widely used technology.
At the time of this update, development of the new system and migration of data is well underway. However due to the size of the system project and the ongoing nature of our work, our systems and processes will be in a state of transition throughout 2025.
In order to reflect how we will operate during this time of transition, we have published a Transitional Schedule to the Distribution Policy that takes effect from 1st May 2025 and amends and takes precedence over the existing Policy where applicable. The Transitional Schedule has been approved by Recorded Music NZ’s Board and will apply to the 2025 distribution of 2024 funds and until further notice.

We have also updated our Privacy Policy to reflect the changes.
